Kirsten discovered the power of nonprofit organizations after seeing several local nonprofits pull two of their family members out of homelessness. Travluss is another resident of Charlotte who has dedicated his time to making a difference in the community by partnering with nonprofit organizations and local organizations to achieve positive change. He graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Psychology and a degree in Organizational Studies. He also has a degree in Accounting from Appalachian State University and is a certified public accountant in North Carolina. Prior to joining the TIAA, Travluss held several leadership positions in other organizations, including Bank of America, Danaher Tool Group and Black & Decker. The National Council on Nonprofit Organizations provides data on the shortage of staff at the national nonprofit level.
